Hello, it have been a while haven't it?
I was busy renaming my blog and making necessary changes that I didn't post (how do you like my new layout?), anyway since school is on the doors (I start on the 13th September, when do you start?) I wanted to make a back to school series (Do not worry about the posts I promised you before the hiatus, I wrote them and I'll post them after I finish this series)

كنت مشغولة أغير إسم المدونة وأعدل الأشياء الضرورية (شرايكم بالثيم الجديد؟)،المهم بما أن الجامعة قربت تفتح (أنا أبدي تاريخ 13/9 إنتو متى تبدون؟) قررت أسوي سلسلة عن العودة للدراسة (لا تخافون البوستات اللي وعدتكم بها سويتها لكن بنزلها عقب ماخلص هالسلسلة)
First I'll start with back to school shopping, and we'll start with what stationery you'll need if you'll be attending University, because most freshmen will be lost
أول شي ببدي بالتسوق، وبوست اليوم بيكون عن القرطاسية اللي بتحتاجونها في الجامعة، لأن معظم الطلبة الجد مايدرون وش يحتاجون
Start by making a list of all the things you need, this is a very important step because it helps you to not forget to buy anything, and you won't buy things you won't need <-- also check if you have it don't buy it, especially if you are shopping for makeup
أول خطوة لازم تسوون قائمة بالأشياء اللي تحتاجونها، هذا مهم لأن يساعدكم ماتنسون تشترون شي تحاجونة، أو تشترون أشياء ماتحتاجونها<-- بعد جيكو شنو الأشياء اللي عندكم علشان لاتردون تشترونها، بالأخص اذا مكياج
If you are a University student you won't need that much supplies (well, it depends on the person, but you won't need as much as you did back in school)
بما أنكم طلبة جامعة ماراح تحتاجون واجد أغراض (يعتمد على الشخص نفسه، بس بعد أقل من أغراض المدرسة)
Okay, let's start with the important stuff first:
أوكي نبدي بالأشياء المهمة أول:
- Pens: you need pens, at least one blue pen because that's what you'll use for exams, and any other colour you like to write with, I like purple :)
Tip: buy gel pens, because they glide easily on paper (more convenient because taking notes needs speed) it doesn’t skip like normal ballpoint pens, and won't leak on the next page like ink pens
- If you use pencil (which I don't recommend because it makes the page looks dirty since it rubs around, it makes it gloomy and dark, oh and it doesn't write on all surfaces) you should use mechanical pencil because they are more convenient (don't need sharpening, no waste/pencil shaving, won't break, tip won’t be too sharp nor too fat), also you need to buy eraser and lead (or sharpener if you use normal pencils)
Tip: choose pens with rubber grip so it won't hurt your finger when you write
- أقلام: لازم بتحتاجون أقلام، ع الأقل قلم أزرق لأنه هذا اللب بتستخدمونه في الإمتحان، وأي ألوان ثانية تحبون تكتبون فيها، أنا أحب البنفسجي :)
نصيحة: أشترو أقلام اللي يكون حبرها جل، لأنها تكتب بسلاسة (هذا واجد بيساعدكم أنكم تكتبون اللي يشرحه الدكتور) ولأها ماتجف مثل أقلام الحبر الناشف ولا تسرب وتطبع في الورقة اللي وراها مثل أقلام الحبر السائل
- إذا كنتون من اللي بستخدمون أقلام بنسل/رصاص (وهذا ما أنصح فيه لأنه يخلي الصفحة تبين وصخه وسودة تسد النفس، وبعد مايكتب على كل أنواع الورق) يفضل إنكم تستخدمون الأقلام الميكانيكية لأنها عملية أكثر (مايحتاج تبرونها، وماتنكسر، والبرية ماتصير واجد حادة أو واجد متينة)، لأاتنسون تشترون محاية وتعبئة رصاص (أو براياة إذا تستخدمون بنسل عادي)
نصيحة: عند شراء الأقلام إختارو الأقلام اللي تجي فيها مسكة مطاطية علشات لاتتعور أصابعكم وأنتو تكتبون

- File: mostly important for the first day, because you'll need to bring your schedule, and you'll be given the class syllabus, also you can put your receipts in it. It is convenient and keep all your stuff save and in one place
- فايل: مهم أكثر شي حق أول يوم، لأن بتحتاجون تجيبون جدولكم، وبيعطونكم الدكاترة الخطة الدراسية/توصيف المقرر، وبعد تحطون فيه الأرصدة. واجد مفيد أنه يخلي أوراقكم مرتبة وكلها في مكان واجد
- Notebook: This is important for taking notes and writing important things, you don't have to buy that on your first day, maybe buy in the second week. Because you don't know if that subject would need taking notes or not. in the meantime carry a small notebook so you can write important information on your first day like: professor name and office hours (and where his office is located), class number + time, exam date, deadlines, grading, if there are projects, study tips for that subject, professor rules <- I had a professor who gets angry if you cross your legs lol
Tips:
* look for sturdy notebook that wont fall apart by the middle of the semester, spiral notebook are my favourite because you can fold them over or and take off page without ruining the notebook, if you don't like spirals opt for notebooks with Perforated paper (paper that have dotted line where you can tear it off) for easier removal and less damage to your notebook
* Use notebooks with plastic covers because they are durable and won't wear out, also plastic is immune to water so it is better in winter if it is raining
* Also (if using spiral bound) look for thicker heavier spirals so it won't fall apart, spirals are better than rings
* Some notebook come with extras like pockets which is more convenient because you won’t have to buy a file, some have removable dividers, others come with a ruler which is a nice addition, so shop around.
* get ones with dividers, or make your own (I'll show you how to in a separate post)
* Most importantly buy good quality paper, that doesn’t drink the ink nor show the writing on the other side. Look for white paper with lighter lines so that page won't look dark

لاحضو الفرق بين الدفتر اللي فوق و اللي تحت، اللي فوق جاي حلزوني وهذا أحسن لأن اللي تحت ممكن يتبطل وتتقلع الأوراق
- دفتر: واجد مهم حق تكتبون شرح الدكتور والأشياء المهمة اللي يقولها، لكن مو لازم تشترونه أول يوم، يفضل على ثاني إسبوع تجيبونه، لأن ماتدرون إذا المادة تحتاج كتابة أو لا. في الوقت الراهن جيبو وياكم دفتر صغير حق تكتبون فيه الأشياء المهمة في أول يوم لكم، مثل: إسم الدكتور وساعاته المكتبية ووين مكان مكتبه، رقم السكشن والوقت، تاريخ إمتحان المنتصف و الكويز، التواريخ المهمة، توزيع الدرجات، البروجكتات، طريقة الدراسة للمادة، قوانين الدكتور<- كان عندي دكتور يعصب إذا حطينا رجول على رجول ههه
نصائح:
* أشترو دفاتر قوية مابتطيح أوراقها قبل لايجي نص الكورس، أنا أحب الدفاتر اللي فيها سلك لأن تقدرون تجفسونها على ورا أو تقلعون أوراقها بدون ماتخترب، إذا ماتحبون هالنوع حاولو تاخذون دفتر اللي فيه مكان منقط حق تشقون الورقة علشان لايخترب دفتركم وتطيح أوراقها
* أشترو الدفاتر اللي غلافها يكون بلاستيك لأنه ماينعدم بسرعة ولا ينشق، وبعد البلاستيك مقاوم للماي وبما أن الشتاء جاي و المطر ماتبون دفتركم ينعدم وأنتون تشاوطون في الجامعة
* إذا بتشترون دفتر أبو سلك أخذو السلك اللي يجي حلزوني علشان لا تطيح الأوراق
* بعض الدفاتر تجي معها إضافات حلوة مثل فايلات تقدرون تحطون فيها الأوراق أريح لكم من تحملون فايل بروحه، بعضها الأقسام مالتها تقدرين تغيرين مكانها، وبعضها يجي وياها مسطرة تنشال وتنحط.
* أشترو دفاتر مقسمة، أو قسموها بروحكم (براويكم شلون في بوست بروحه)
* أهم شي أنكم تشترون دفاتر أوراقها زينة، ماتشرب الحبر و لا تشف وتبين الكتابة في ظهر الصفحة. دورو دفاتر تكون أوراقها بيضاء والخطوط اللي فيها فاتحة حق لا تبين الصفحات واجد غامقة
Other things that would be helpful to have:
أشياء ثانية تستفيدون منها:
- Highlighters: to highlight Important things and key words
- Page flags: to mark important pages (e.g. from where the quiz/midterm starts) or to mark the start of chapters
- Bookmarks: to mark where you stopped reading, or where you stopped last class
- You can easily make your own (I'll show you how in a separate post)
- Extra notebook: for studying, and making summaries ---> I use Foolscap paper because it resembles the exam paper (being in similar environment to the exam will helps you recall information better)
- Flash card: makes it easier (and fun) to study for exams
- Washi tape/coloured tape: to tape unimportant pages, much better looking than folding them

- أقلام التظليل/التحديد/الفوسفوري: علشان تحددون الأشياء المهمة و الكلمات المفتاحية
- فواصل اللي تتلصق: حق تحددون الصفحات المهمة (مثلا الأمتحان من وين لوين) أو تحددون وين يبتدي كل جبتر
- فواصل/بوكمارك: تحددون وين وصلتون في القراءة/التحضير، أو وين وقفت الحصة اللي فاتت
- أو تقدرون تسوونهم بروحكم (براويكم في بوست بروحه)
- دفر للمراجعة/التحضير: حق تلخصون فيه الدروس <--- أنا أستخدم أوراق الفولسكيب لأنها تشبه أوراق الامتحان (إذا تدرسون في بيئة مشابهة لبيئة الأمتحان يسهل عليكم إسترجاع المعلومات)
- بطاقات للمراجعة: أحسها تسهل عملية الدراسة وتخليها ممتعة
- لصاق ملون: حق تلصقون الصفحات المحذوفة، أرتب من إذا تجفسون الصفحات ويصير الكتاب شمتنه
