Review: Holika Holika 3 seconds Starter Vita Complex

Hello there :)

I know I promised that I'll be posting reviews from my haul, but University is sucking out all of my energy, that I even started having nightmares (read about it here).

But I'll try my best to make reviews.. So today's review will be a serum, Because serums act as specialists. They are formulated to address specific skin concerns, and they address needs that aren't covered by a moisturizer.

Product claims:
actively fights bacteria related to acne breakouts. The vita complex helps to calm and relieve irritated areas for a clearer complexion; while vitamin C ingredient brightens dark spots to create a more even skin tone. The Holika Holika Three Second starter Vita Complex creates a bacteria free platform for face before the application for makeup. Now you too, can say goodbye to troubled skin!

as always, ingredients is in Hangul/Korean

Ingredients: I couldn't find the full list of ingredients, But it contains Niacin, Machihyun extract, Vita Treatment Complex, Vitamin C

Size: 150ml

Packaging: clear plastic bottle that have a translucent sticker that have orange details, and a white plastic pump.

Price: $10.66 (from here)

How to use : After washing, dry your face, then apply right amount while tapping gently. ( I use one pump, sometimes 2)
※ Application within 3 seconds after washing the face is more effective.

Smell: it reminds me of my last year in school, Because it smells like the orange juice I used to drink daily (it was the only juice available in the school cafeteria)

Texture: it is water gel-like clear liquid.

When applied on hand

after your skin absorb it (it takes less than a minute)
P.S: there is something wrong with blogspot today, it is ruining the quality of the pictures, I swear my hands are pretty, they are not pigmented and dark, like they are in these photos >.<

Pros:
Lightweight
- Not very expensive
- The bottle materials are very durable (I am clumsy and I tend to drop things a lot, but only once the pump fell off and I was able to put it back in place and it is still working like nothing happened)
- It make your skin feel fresh and energized
- Doesn't leave  a residue on your face
- Makes skin looks radiant and smooth within seconds
- You needs just a little bit for your whole face, so it is economical

Cons:
- The smell, I hate the smell of orange and citrus. ( but for other people this might be positive).

Repurchase: no, because as always, I want to try other products, and I am not a big fan of the smell.

Memories Memory: University & nightmares

Yesterday I had a really tiring day in University, and I came home 30 minutes late. So I immediately went to bed. and I had a dream ..

I was in University, I was so tired as I just got out of my last class, I wanted to go home so bad and sleep, but when the doors where closed, all the doors, and there was a teacher there, she said that we can't go home, we have to stay here for after school class or we won't be able to graduate, I didn't care I wanted to go home.. I kept walking around looking for a an open door to get out, but with no avail, so I headed to the window to jump out of it, but when I looked outside it was like Rapunzel tower, there was no way I could get out. so I went back to my class, the teacher said that we will go on a field trip right now to see successful people, and how can we dream to be like them, but we will never be because we are merely UoB student and laughed at us.

All of the students were so happy, all of them were saying that they'll be successful and there dreams will come true, because if they kept doing extra work they'll graduate.
I was uncomfortable, but I followed the teacher, she lead us outside the building, and suddenly we were on an island, actually a few little islands next to each other (think IMVU houses), each island had a huge house in it, with beautiful cars , and big fountains and statues around it, and all the students were in awe, all of them were so happy, thinking that one day they can live there, I didn't feel the same, I though "that is exaggerated and fake, all of this was unnecessary, I didn't want any of this"

And while we were walking the owner of the place came and said : look at me I am successful, I feel so bad for people like you :( , he stepped aside and picked up some soil/dirt from under his feet, and handed it to the students and said: here you go, you can take this, it is my gift for you, and some day you can dream to be in it's place, and he laughed, all of the students were fighting over the dirt, I felt disgraced, WTF does he mean we can dream to be in it's place, not just it is some dirt, it was UNDER HIS FEET !! I am not going to let anyone step on me, so I walked away trying to find a way to go home, suddenly the waves were becoming big, and started flooding the island, the guy ran fast near me he was shouting at me, then the wave hit me and I fell down, the guy got closer, but to my surprise he was checking on his fountain, he didn't care that I was hurt, I tried to get up but couldn't, then another wave came, and another one, it felt like they were targeting me, I was drowning I tried to swim but I couldn't, the wave formed a hand around my neck and it was choking me, the sound of the wave was saying: where do you think you are going? no one gets out, you are trapped here, forever, we will suck your souls, you'll be our slave..

then I felt soft lips on my forehead and woke up, covered in sweat (like will graham lol) shouting I am drowning I am downing, my mom was worried (she was the one who kissed my forehead) and told me it was just a nightmare.

So today, I opened http://dreammoods.com (my go to website for dream interpretation ), and this is what it said :

*The highlights are done with a really nice google chrome extension, I might write a review on it if anyone is interested*
Apparently, going to University is causing me a lot of stress that I am starting to have nightmares :(

Does anyone know how can I get rid of this stress?  Because it is not only causing me nightmares, but also physical pain(especially on shoulders), low appetite, vertigo/dizziness, and today I fainted.

(( I think this is serious because it have been only a week and a half since University started))

Does it work ?

^This is my hand before.

Missha eye shadow, 2 lipstick, waterproof eye pencil, Missha BB cream in 23
with just a little bit of rubbing, most of the makeup is gone.

all of the makeup is gone (except for the darker pink lipstick( I dunno if you can see it in the picture), it stained in my skin, and I couldn't take it off, even after washing it several times with regular hand soap a few hours later).

this product passed the test ^___^

- budget friendly (bot only cheap, but you only need a little bit of it and it is enough for your face and neck)
- moisturize the skin.

Cons:
- you can only buy it online.
- it doesn't taste as good as it smells, it is very bitter, and it is hard to get rid of it if it gets in your mouth (I did not try to eat it! it got in my mouth because I was talking to my mom while washing my face).. also be careful not to get it in your eyes, it'll dry them.

Repurchase: Maybe, but I really want to try Holika Holika Daily Garden Cleansing Foam.

PLEASE Share this!!!

WRITTEN BY A COP: Everyone should take 5 minutes to read this. It may save your life or a loved one’s life. In daylight hours, refresh yourself of these things to do in an emergency situation… This is for you, and for you to share with your wife, your children, & everyone you know. After reading these 9 crucial tips, forward them to someone you care about. It never hurts to be careful in this crazy world we live in.

1. Tip from Tae Kwon Do :The elbow is the strongest point on your body. If you are close enough to use it, do!

2. Learned this from a tourist guide. If a robber asks for your wallet and/or purse,
DO NOT HAND IT TO HIM. Toss it away from you… Chances are that he is more interested in your wallet and/or purse than you, and he will go for the wallet/purse.
RUN LIKE MAD IN THE OTHER DIRECTION!

3. If you are ever thrown into the trunk of a car, kick out the back tail lights and stick your arm out the hole and start waving like crazy.. The driver won’t see you, but everybody else will. This has saved lives.

4. Women have a tendency to get into their cars after shopping, eating, working, etc., and just sit (doing their checkbook, or making a list, etc.
DON’T DO THIS!) The predator will be watching you, and this is the perfect opportunity for him to get in on the passenger side, put a gun to your head,
and tell you where to go. AS SOON AS YOU GET INTO YOUR CAR ,
LOCK THE DOORS AND LEAVE..

If someone is in the car with a gun to your head DO NOT DRIVE OFF, Repeat:
DO NOT DRIVE OFF! Instead gun the engine and speed into anything, wrecking the car. Your Air Bag will save you. If the person is in the back seat they will get the worst of it. As soon as the car crashes bail out and run. It is better than having them find your body in a remote location.

5. A few notes about getting into your car in a parking lot, or parking garage:
A.) Be aware:look around you, look into your car, at the passenger side floor ,
and in the back seat.
B.) If you are parked next to a big van, enter your car from the passenger door.
Most serial killers attack their victims by pulling them into their vans while the women
are attempting to get into their cars. C.) Look at the car parked on the driver’s side of your vehicle, and the passenger side.. If a male is sitting alone in the seat nearest your car, you may want to walk back into the mall, or work, and get a guard/policeman to walk you back out. IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY. (And better paranoid than dead.)

6. ALWAYS take the elevator instead of the stairs. Stairwells are horrible places to be alone and the perfect crime spot. This is especially true at NIGHT!)

7. If the predator has a gun and you are not under his control, ALWAYS RUN!
The predator will only hit you (a running target) 4 in 100 times; and even then,
it most likely WILL NOT be a vital organ. RUN, Preferably in a zig -zag pattern!

8. As women, we are always trying to be sympathetic: STOP It may get you raped, or killed. Ted Bundy, the serial killer, was a good-looking, well educated man, who ALWAYS played on the sympathies of unsuspecting women. He walked with a cane, or a limp, and often asked ‘for help’ into his vehicle or with his vehicle, which is when he abducted his next victim.

9. Another Safety Point: Someone just told me that her friend heard a crying baby on her porch the night before last, and she called the police because it was late
and she thought it was weird.. The police told her ‘Whatever you do, DO NOT
open the door..’ The lady then said that it sounded like the baby
had crawled near a window, and she was worried that it would crawl to the street and get run over. The policeman said, ‘We already have a unit on the way,
whatever you do, DO NOT open the door.’ He told her that they think a serial killer
has a baby’s cry recorded and uses it to coax women out of their homes thinking that someone dropped off a baby.. He said they have not verified it, but have had several calls by women saying that they hear baby’s cries outside their doors when they’re home alone at night.

10. Water scam! If you wake up in the middle of the night to hear all your taps outside running or what you think is a burst pipe, DO NOT GO OUT TO INVESTIGATE! These people turn on all your outside taps full blast so that you will go out to investigate and then attack.

Stay alert, keep safe, and look out for your neighbors! Please pass this on
This post should probably be taken seriously because the Crying Baby Theory was mentioned on America ‘s Most Wanted when they profiled
the serial killer in Louisiana

I’d like you to forward this to all the women you know.
It may save a life. A candle is not dimmed by lighting another candle..
I was going to send this to the ladies only,
but guys, if you love your mothers, wives, sisters, daughters, etc.,
you may want to pass it onto them, as well.

Send this to any woman you know that may need
to be reminded that the world we live in has a lot of crazies in it
and it’s better to be safe than sorry..
Everyone should take 5 minutes to read this. It may save your life or
a loved one’s life.

Memories memory: First day of University

Hi ~

If you've read my University haul post, you probably know that today I officially started my second year of law school, I go to University of Bahrain or UoB for short.

Because of that, I went to the saloon yesterday and got my eyebrows groomed,
my skin is a bit red on the second picture because I toke it 10 minutes after I got out of the saloon.
threading your face is the best thing you can do to fully transform yourself into a better looking creature, it brightens your face and helps even out your skin tone a bit (because areas with hair tends to look darker)

but before that, I shaved my legs and arms, ( tip: to avoid getting ingrown hair, shave twice, one with the grain, then one more time against the grain) I was gillette simply venus 2 razor, while I was trying to clean the razor ( pulling the hairs out ), somehow the razor head broke and cut my thumb, I was shocked, and when I looked at my finger there was a big stain of blood, I quickly covered myself with my towel and opened the bathroom door to call for a band-aid, and in 2 minutes there was a pool of blood under my feet, I am not joking, there was literally a pool of blood, I was scared and in so much pain, my whole family was freaking out while watching, I kept washing my finger with water, but blood wasn't stopping, and I was bleeding a lot, I started feeling sick in my stomach after a few minutes, and felt lightheaded, my mom and sister guided me to the bedroom, sat me on the bed and gave me water, after a few seconds my brother finally found the band-aids, and my dad applied one on my thumb, while he was doing that, everything became black and I lied on the bed, after a minutes my mom lifted my head and I woke up.. it was -and it still is- painful, I can't move my thumb or touch it, it hurts a lot, and I have to change the band-aid every 2 hours because it gets full of blood.. that was a horrible experience, I am never going to buy those razors again.

and these are the photos I took today
this is the band-aid after 3 minutes of changing it today
I am thankful that my skin wasn't completely gone, only a small part was still in the razor.. it is not obvious here but the skin was lifted off of my skin, but I just put it back in place and covered it with band-aid.
and here is two disgusting photos of my wound,

Anyway, let's get back to today, first day of University means thousands of freshmen (6200 were accepted this semester).. tbh, I find it entertaining to watch freshmen (even when I was one, it was still fun), everyone is overdressed and looks lost, they don't know what to do, and it is just fun to listen to them lying to each others lol

what I noticed in this year students, is that there is a lot of butches (I don't hate them, everyone have the right to dress and look the way they want, but here is Bahrain, being a butch is a trend (just like ombre or pastel colours))
but the thing that killed me was the boys, I can't believe how cute these kids are, they are really handsome and good looking, why didn't my batch have cute guys ? this is so unfair >:(

this is my schedule for this semester,
I am on probation because I got bad marks last semester (riding horses instead of studying for finals is a stupid decision)
My First class was Introduction to legal studies, I am lucky my friend from school goes to the same class with me (it is not nice to be alone), but I am not lucky because where I like to sit is reserved for boy :(
our lecturer is Egyptian, he have a weird accent that I am not used to, and he talk fast.
he wasn't dressed professionally (like you would expect from someone in the legal field), what he wore made him look like a janitor or something, if you saw him you wouldn't expect him to be working in a University, he really looked out of place (I don't care about looks that much, but for the first day, at least you want to look clean).
and in the end of the lecture when he stood up, his pants zipper were open !! that was embarrassing, I hope he noticed it after the lecture.. he is a nice man.

after the lecture, I've been told that the law library was removed, why the f*** would they get rid of the law library ? where are supposed to study and find law related books for our essays and assignments ? not to mention that people from all the GCC countries come specifically for this library, it just make no sense to me.

also another thing I want to complain about is the girls' rest area, why there is no wifi ? how are we supposed to take a break or rest without wifi ? what annoys me the most is that there is wifi everywhere else ( even the toilets) but no wifi in the resting areas, this is stupid.

My second class was criminology and punishment, ( I arrived 2 minutes late because I didn't know where the class is) my professor was Egyptian too, but he didn't have a wired accent, and he looks like Laurence Fishburne ( but he is older, have white hair, and big earlobes ), he was nice, he kept joking with us.
for the first lecture he said he'll start by giving us a brief introduction of the subject, and ended up summarizing the book, but it was okay because he kept telling us stories to make us understand what he is talking about ( the first one was Cain and Abel ).
the only thing that annoyed me about that professor was that he had dust on his shoulder (he wore navy suit) and it was so distracting.

then I kept seeing cute kids everywhere (I have an hour break between every class, so I wandered around), when I was in the coldstore, (I tend to take my time in front of the refrigerators and consider all the possibilities, it is hard to choose what to drink) when I looked to my right, there was a boy (freshman, because he doesn't have his students ID yet), he was staring at me -even though I am not a big fan of blue eyes, or blonde hair, this guy was totally cute- and when I looked at him, he flushed and bit his lips, but he was staring into my eyes, he was cute!!!(ノ≧∀≦)ノ I smiled at him and I kind of bite a little of my lower lip (I do that when I get compliments or cute stares, it is a habit, my BFF say it's cute) then his eyes softened, and he have this look on his face, he was about to say something but he kept opening and closing his mouth like he have nothing to say, and he was adorable, I just gave him a smile, nodded my head, and proceeded to the cashier to pay for my drink, when I glanced he was standing next to me, I took my time butting the money in my wallet, but he was still struggling for words, so I just walked away :/

and it was finally my last class, Introduction to Islamic sharia'a -the same friend from the first class is with me here too, and she sat next to me- and when the lecturer came I discovered that all my professors this year were Egyptians. just like the previous class, the professor also went through the book, and I didn't pay that much attention to him because I got bored.

and that is how my first day went, how about you ? did you have fun, or did you hate it ?

Back to University haul

Sup ?

it is back to school season :(
I'll start Uni on 15th September (1 days to go) and I am a bit nervous, I don't know why but I keep feeling that I am not yet ready ( both emotionally and materially ), so to make myself feel better I got out all the stuff I got for university and took pictures, because this way I'll know if there is something I didn't get yet.

and since I already photographed everything, I thought why not blog about it ? you know it can be a good reference for me for next semester, and it might help some people.

so here you go :

Splashlights

Hey, it's me again ~

Even though I am not allowed to dye my hair (ugh, parents), I am always on the look out for the next big hair color trend, but my findings usually ends up with ombré. But ombré has been a thing for so long it became over-used and mainstream (no, I am not a hipster).

I was so tired of seeing this ombré look, I thought that there is no new hair trends, Until I came across this picture :

at first I thought it was just shadow reflection on her hair, but when I looked again, I know it wasn't.

after googling a bit I discovered that this hair trend is called ‘splashlight’, splashlights are a streak of highlights that move horizontally across the hair, creating the illusion that you are standing in a spotlight.

the creator of this look Aura Friedman, (who is a pioneer in the hair colour world; and she is the on who started the original ombré trend), told Allure that she 'wanted to create the effect that a laser beam is hitting your hair at a certain spot.'To achieve this look, start with fully bleached hair (I think it is easier that way), then colour the hair below and above the sections you want to stay bleached with a shade similar to your natural hair colour.

Do you think this trend will be the new ombré ? would it be the next hair trend of 2014 ?
