Back to School: shopping: Makeup ➁ سلسلة العودة للدراسة :التسوق:المكياج

Now that we are done with stationery, let's start with makeup because I know almost all girls are excited about makeup since school didn't allowed them to wear it.

I'll divide it to 3 categories:
1. Base (which is very important and for everyone, even if you don't wear makeup you should use these - this means even boys should use it)
2. Basic makeup
3. Point makeup

وألحين عقب ما خلصنا من القرطاسية بتكلم عن المكياج بما أن أغلبية البنات متحمسين له لأن المدارس ماكانت تسمح به.

بقسم هالبوست إلى 3 مجموعات:

1. الأساسيات (وهي حدها مهمة حتى لو ماكنتي بتحطين مكياج لازم تستخدمينها - يعني حتى الصبيان لازم يستخدمونها)

2. المكياج الرئيسي

3. المكياج الإضافي

Let’s start with the first one: the Base

- Skincare products - because you have to take care of your skin (do you want me to talk about that?)
- Moisturizer - Because dry flaky skin doesn't look nice
- Lip balm - Just like with skin, cracked lips are eyesore, and it makes you look sick. Also look for one that contains SPF
- Sunscreen - to protect yourself from the sun, because sun causes pigmentation, sun burns, and cancer
Easy, no?

خلنا نتكلم عن النقطة الأولى: الأساسيات

- منتجات العناية بالبشرة - لأن لازم تهتمون في بشرتكم (تبون أسوي بوست عنه؟)

- مرطب للبشرة - لأن البشرة اللي فيها قشور شكلها مو حلو

- مرطب شفاه - مثل البشرة، الفاه المتشققة والمتقشرة شكلها كريه، وتخلي الشخص يبين مريض. حاولو تستخدمون مرطب فيه نسبة حماية من الشمس

- واقي شمس - علشان يحميكم من الشمس، لأنها تسبب تصبغات في البشرة، حروق، أو لا سمح الله سرطان

سهل صح؟

Now let's move to basic makeup:
- concealer - choose one that suits your skin type, normally mousse concealer are for oily skin while cream/liquid concealers are for dry skin, but it depends on the brand, I use stick concealer (I'll list makeup recommendation later). The concealer should have good coverage (or else it won't be called concealer because it can't conceal a thing lol) also choose a shade that matches you skintone, as a rule of thumb, choose one that is 1~2 shades lighter than your skintone
- Eyebrow product - eyebrows frame the face, and they can make you look done without even wearing makeup, Also no matter how nice your makeup looks, with bad brows it'll look ugly, so take care of your brows. if your brows are sparse you should use brow gel or brow pen because it gives darker colour and stays in place, of you got nice eye brows but have bald spots or whatever they are called, you can use brow powder or eyeshadow, you can also use pencil type but do it lightly and you don't have to fill the whole thing, only the bald spots (seriously what is it called?), if you have bushy brows use clear mascara to hold them in place *you can skip this if your brows are full* most importantly don't draw any harsh edges and use a colour that matches your natural eyebrow colour
- mascara + liner - it can cover tired eyes, because mascara curl your lashes and makes them longer, that makes your eyes look awake. If you are going to wear it daily, use one that is not waterproof so your lashes won't fall down. Eyeliner or tightlining makes your lashes look fuller, and using coloured liner will make your eyes pop 
- Lip stain - because lipstick won't last long, especially if you will be eating or you bite your lips occasionally. And you won't have time to keep reapplying it 
- blush/bronzer - choose one of the two, whatever works for you, personally I use a face powder that is a few shades darker than my skintone and it works perfectly :)
- Face powder - choose a transparent/translucent powder or one that matches your skintone, and apply lightly to prevent oiliness, use a fluffy brush instead of sponge. I prefer pressed powder because it is less messy and you can carry it in your bag, also most of them comes with a mirror. 
- Lip gloss - it is good for concealing cracked/dry lips, just don't overdo it.

ألحين ننتقل للمكياج الرئيسي:

- خافي عيوب - أختاري اللي يناسب نوع بشرتك، عادةً اللي يجي موس (مثل القشدة المخفوقة) يناسب البشرة الدهنية و اللي يجي كريم/سائل يناسب البشرات الجافة، لكن هذا يعتمد على الماركة نفسها، أنا أستخدم اللي يجي مثل الحمرة (بحط المنتجات اللي أنصح فيها بعدين). خافي العيوب لازم تكون تغطيته قوية (علشان يخفي العيوب، وإلا مابيصير خافي عيوب ههه) إختاري درجة تناسب لون بشرتك، كقاعدة عامة إختاري خافي أفتح من لونك بدرجة إلى درجتين بس لا تزيدين عنها.

- للحواجب - الحواجب تأطر الوجه وتعزز مظهره العام، هي تساعد أن شكلك يكون حده مرتب حتى بدون مكياج، وبعد مهما كان مكياجك مرتب وكشخة، إذا حواجبك غلط راح يخترب كلشي، علشان جذي أهتمي بشكلهم. إذا كانت حواجبك خفيفة إستخدمي منتجات كريمية/جل أو قلم الحواجب لأنهم يعطون لون أوضح ويدومون أطول مايطيرون. أما إذا كانت حواجبك أوكي لكن فيها فراغات إستخدمي المنتجات البودرة أو أيشادو (ظلال عيون)، تقدرين بعد تستخدمين القلم إذا حابة لكن إرسميهم بخفة ومايحتاج تسوين الحاجب كله بس إملي الفراغات. وإذا حواجبك كانت من تصير تتطاير وكل شعرة في صوب إستخدمي مسكرا حواجب شفافة حق تثبتهم في مكانهم *تقدرين تستغنين عن منتجات الحواجب إذا كانت حواجبك عدلة* أهم نصيحة لاترسميهم بشكل حاد ولا تخلين زوايا بالأخص في بداية الحاجب وبعد إستخدمي لون يكون مثل لون حواجبك (تقدرين تستخدمين أغمق أو أفتح لكن بدرجة أو درجتين بس مو أكثر)

- ماسكارا + كحل - يساعدون في إخفاء التعب من العين، لأن الماسكارا تقوس الرموش وتطولهم، وهذا يخلي العين تبين مصحصحة. إذا كنتي بتستخدمينها بشكل يومي فأختاري وحدة ماتكون ضد الماء علشان لا تطيح رموشك. والكحل أو اللأيلاينر يخلي الرموش تبين أكثر كثافة، وإستخدام الكحل الملون بيخلي عيونج تبرق.

- ملون الشفاه الثابت (عاد إنتو مشو الترجمة) - هو يجي مثل القلوس بس مايطير يتم لساعات، وهذا أحسن من الحمرة العادية لأنها تروح إذا أكلي أو إذا كنتي من نوع اللي يعض شفايفة. ومابيكون عندج وقت كلحين تعدلين حمرتج علشان جذي هذا أحسن لأن حطيه وأنسيه

- بلشر (مورد شفاه) أو برونز - إختاري واحد من الأثنين، اللي يناسبك أكثر، بالنسبة لي أستخدم بودرة وجه لونها أغمق مني بكم درجه تطلع طبيعية ومرتبة

- بودرة وجه - إختاري البودرة الشفافة أو اللي لونها مثل بشرتك، وحطي طبقة جداً خفيفة ، تساعد البودرة أن الوجه مايدهن، يفضل إستخدام فرشاة كبيرة بدل الأسفنجة. أنا أفضل البودرة المضغوطة أحسن من البودرة الحرة لأن  الحرة يبي لها حوسة ويمكن تتنثر في الشنطة وتعفس المكان، والمضغوطة عادةً تجي وياها منظرة.

- ملمع شفاه - واجد مفيد في تغطية تشققات الشفاه، بس لا تغرقين شفايك به

Then there is point makeup, which is a nice addition to your daily makeup routine
- foundation/BB cream - if your skin is okay you don't need this, a concealer would be enough for you, but if you just want to use something on your face, then buy bb/cc cream, they are more gentle on your face But if you need it (to even skintone, if your skin is not clear, you have acne/acne scars...etc.) use foundation with light coverage to medium coverage. Full coverage is more suitable for events so it is not appropriate for school/Uni, it is also very heavy on the skin it'll cause breakouts. buy foundation that matches your skintone, not lighter nor darker, also makes sure it matches your skin type.
- Coloured liners - I love them! It adds a pop of colour without being too much
- Eyeshadow - a nice addition if you want to spice up your makeup a bit. It make your eye prettier and more awake (depending on the colour and how to apply it), steer away unnatural or dark colour, and stick with natural/neutral tones. And don't apply to much
- Bronzer to contour - full sculpted contour that look like burns is horrible, don't do it. But using bronzer to frame your face will make it good looking and give you a sun kissed look, just apply a little where you would contour your face and buff it, use powder not cream (I might do a tutorial)
- Falsies - it will make you eye look bigger, and more feminine, just stick with natural looking ones and try to apply minimum liner and no eyeshadow, also you’ll need eyelash glue.
- Primer or base - a primer it'll help your makeup stay longer, reduce pores and sebum, smoothes the skin and makes your makeup easier to apply. While a base will even out your skintone and makes your makes up goes smoothly

وبعدين فيه المكياج الإضافي، وهو حلو يكون عندج بس مو مهم واجد:

- فاونديشن(كريم الأساس) أو بي بي كريم - إذا كانت بشرتك صحية مابتحتاجينه، الكونسيلر (خافي العيوب) بيكون كفاية، لكن إذا تبين تستخدمين شي على وجهك، أشتري بي بي أو سي سي كريم، لأنهم أخف على البشرة. لكن إذا كنتي تحتاجين كريم أساس (تعانين من التبقع/عدم توحد لون البشرة، بشرتك مو صافية، عندج حبوب أو آثار حبوب... إلخ) إستخدمي كريم أساس تغطيته خفيفة إلى متوسطة. التغطية الفل حق الأعراس والمناسبات ماتصلح للجامعة، وبعد تكون ثقيلة ع البشرة تسبب لكم حبوب. أشتري كريم أساس يناسب لون بشرتك، لا أفتح و لا أغمق، وأنتبهي أنه لازم يناسب نوع بشرتك.

- كحل ملون - أعشقهم! يعطي المكياج حياة بدون مايكون أوفر

- أيشادو (ظلال عيون) - يعتبر إضافة حلوة للمكياج. يخلي العيون أحلى ومصحصحة (يعتمد عل الألوان وطريقة التطبيق) إبتعدي عن الألوان الصارخة أو الغامقة، وأستخدمي الألوان الطبيعية/المحايدة. ولا تحطين واجد

- برونزر حق الكونتور - البرونزر الغامق المنحوت اللي كأنه وجهك محترق كريه، لا تسوونه. لكن إستخدام البرونزر حق تحديد الوجه يخليه صحي ومشرق، أستخديه على حواف الوجه ومكان ماتحطين كونتور بس طبقة خفيفة مايكون واجد واضح وإدمجيه عدل، إستخدمي بودرة مو كريم (يمكن أسوي له شرح مصور إذا تبون)

- رموش تركيب - تخلي العين أوسع وأنثوية أكثر، أهمشي تستخدمين رموش شكلها طبيعي وحاولي تحطين لاينر كلش خفيف وماتستخدمين ظلال عيون، وبتحتاجين صمغ للرموش

- برايمر(مثبت مكياج) أو بيس (قاهدة للمكياج) - البرايمر يساعد المكياج يثبت مدة أطول، يصغر المسام ويقلل الدهون، ويخلي البشرة مستوية ويسهل وضع المكياج. أما البيس يوحد لون البشرة ويخلي المكياج أسهل إنج تحطينه

Other makeup products/tools you'll need:
- makeup remover - if you wear makeup then you must have this, because sleeping with makeup ruins the skin and makes your eyelashes weak, an alternative would be wet wipes but they are not as effective in removing makeup, especially waterproof makeup (would you like a post on makeup removal?)
- Oil absorbing paper - I can't emphasize enough how important these are, it keep your face shine free because it absorbs extra oil, sebum, and sweat. and using it to get rid of shine is better that using powder because if you keep applying powder it'll get cakey and look bad, but using oil absorbing paper won't cause that because you are not apply any product but removing excuse oil. You use it by pressing it on the shiny parts of your face and it'll clean it :)
- Brushes and sponges - big fluffy brush for the powder, blush brush, eye brushes (slanted brush for liner and eyebrows, eyebrows brush/comb, sponge applicator) sponges to apply foundation (would you like a post on brushes? maybe show you my brushes or something?)
- Eyelash curler - it curls your lashes and you can use it instead of mascara
- Makeup sitting spray - don't need explanation.

أشياء ثانية بتحتاجينها:

- مزيل للمكياج - إذا تحطين مكياج لازم تشيلينه من تخلصين، لأن إذا خليتيه ونمتي به راح تنعدم بشرتج وتصير الرموش ضعيفة وتطيح، بديل لمزيل المكياج هو المناديل المرطبة (وايبز) لكنها ماتشيل المكياج عدل مثل مزيل المكياج (تبون أسوي بوسن عن إزالة المكياج ؟)

- مناديل إمتصاص الدهون - ماقدر أشدد كفاية على أهميتها، تشيل اللمعة من الوجه لأنها تمتص الدهون الزايدة و العرق. وأستخدامها لتغطية اللمعة أحسن من إستخدام البودرة لأن البودرة تصير طبقة وتالي يصير شكلك كأنك طابة في خيشة طحين، لأن إستخدام مناديل إمتصاص الدهون ماتسوي هالشي لأنج ماقاعدة تحطين أي شي على وجهك لكن قاعدة تشيلين الدهون الزايدة. أستخدميه بطريقة الضغط على الجزء المدهن من بشرتك وبينظفه لج

- فرش و أسفنج - فرشاة كبيرة ناعمة للبودرة، فرشاة حق البلشر، فرش للعيون (فرشاة رأسها مشطون حق اللاينر و رسم الحواجب، فرشاة الحواجب اللي فيها مشط، الفرش الأسفنجية حق ظلال العيون) إسفنج لكريم الأساس(تبون أسوي بوست عن الفرش؟ أراويكم الفرش اللي عندي أو شي جذي؟ )

- عقاصة رموش - بنت خالتي تحب هالكلمة ههه، ماعلينا. وظيفتها تقوس الرموش و تقدرين تستخدمينها بدل المسكرة

- مثبت مكياج - مايحتاج شرح

Hello, it have been a while haven't it?

I was busy renaming my blog and making necessary changes that I didn't post (how do you like my new layout?), anyway since school is on the doors (I start on the 13th September, when do you start?) I wanted to make a back to school series (Do not worry about the posts I promised you before the hiatus, I wrote them and I'll post them after I finish this series)

كنت مشغولة أغير إسم المدونة وأعدل الأشياء الضرورية (شرايكم بالثيم الجديد؟)،المهم بما أن الجامعة قربت تفتح (أنا أبدي تاريخ 13/9 إنتو متى تبدون؟) قررت أسوي سلسلة عن العودة للدراسة (لا تخافون البوستات اللي وعدتكم بها سويتها لكن بنزلها عقب ماخلص هالسلسلة)

First I'll start with back to school shopping, and we'll start with what stationery you'll need if you'll be attending University, because most freshmen will be lost

أول شي ببدي بالتسوق، وبوست اليوم بيكون عن القرطاسية اللي بتحتاجونها في الجامعة، لأن معظم الطلبة الجد مايدرون وش يحتاجون

Start by making a list of all the things you need, this is a very important step because it helps you to not forget to buy anything, and you won't buy things you won't need <-- also check if you have it don't buy it, especially if you are shopping for makeup

أول خطوة لازم تسوون قائمة بالأشياء اللي تحتاجونها، هذا مهم لأن يساعدكم ماتنسون تشترون شي تحاجونة، أو تشترون أشياء ماتحتاجونها<-- بعد جيكو شنو الأشياء اللي عندكم علشان لاتردون تشترونها، بالأخص اذا مكياج

If you are a University student you won't need that much supplies (well, it depends on the person, but you won't need as much as you did back in school)

بما أنكم طلبة جامعة ماراح تحتاجون واجد أغراض (يعتمد على الشخص نفسه، بس بعد أقل من أغراض المدرسة)

Okay, let's start with the important stuff first:

أوكي نبدي بالأشياء المهمة أول:

- Pens:   you need pens, at least one blue pen because that's what you'll use for exams, and any other colour you like to write with, I like purple :)

Tip: buy gel pens, because they glide easily on paper (more convenient because taking notes needs speed) it doesn’t skip like normal ballpoint pens, and won't leak on the next page like ink pens

• If you use pencil (which I don't recommend because it makes the page looks dirty since it rubs around, it makes it gloomy and dark, oh and it doesn't write on all surfaces) you should use mechanical pencil because they are more convenient (don't need sharpening, no waste/pencil shaving, won't break, tip won’t be too sharp nor too fat), also you need to buy eraser and lead (or sharpener if you use normal pencils)

Tip: choose pens with rubber grip so it won't hurt your finger when you write

- أقلام:  لازم بتحتاجون أقلام، ع الأقل قلم أزرق لأنه هذا اللب بتستخدمونه في الإمتحان، وأي ألوان ثانية تحبون تكتبون فيها، أنا أحب البنفسجي :)

نصيحة: أشترو أقلام اللي يكون حبرها جل، لأنها تكتب بسلاسة (هذا واجد بيساعدكم أنكم تكتبون اللي يشرحه الدكتور) ولأها ماتجف مثل أقلام الحبر الناشف ولا تسرب وتطبع في الورقة اللي وراها مثل أقلام الحبر السائل

•  إذا كنتون من اللي بستخدمون أقلام بنسل/رصاص (وهذا ما أنصح فيه لأنه يخلي الصفحة تبين وصخه وسودة تسد النفس، وبعد مايكتب على كل أنواع الورق) يفضل إنكم تستخدمون الأقلام الميكانيكية لأنها عملية أكثر (مايحتاج تبرونها، وماتنكسر، والبرية ماتصير واجد حادة أو واجد متينة)، لأاتنسون تشترون محاية وتعبئة رصاص (أو براياة إذا تستخدمون بنسل عادي)

نصيحة: عند شراء الأقلام إختارو الأقلام اللي تجي فيها مسكة مطاطية علشات لاتتعور أصابعكم وأنتو تكتبون

- File:  mostly important for the first day, because you'll need to bring your schedule, and you'll be given the class syllabus, also you can put your receipts in it. It is convenient and keep all your stuff save and in one place

- فايل:  مهم أكثر شي حق أول يوم، لأن بتحتاجون تجيبون جدولكم، وبيعطونكم الدكاترة الخطة الدراسية/توصيف المقرر، وبعد تحطون فيه الأرصدة. واجد مفيد أنه يخلي أوراقكم مرتبة وكلها في مكان واجد

- Notebook:  This is important for taking notes and writing important things, you don't have to buy that on your first day, maybe buy in the second week.  Because you don't know if that subject would need taking notes or not. in the meantime carry a small notebook so you can write important information on your first day like: professor name and office hours (and where his office is located), class number + time, exam date, deadlines, grading, if there are projects, study tips for that subject, professor rules <- I had a professor who gets angry if you cross your legs lol

Tips: 

* look for sturdy notebook that wont fall apart by the middle of the semester, spiral notebook are my favourite because you can fold them over or and take off page without ruining the notebook, if you don't like spirals opt for notebooks with Perforated paper (paper that have dotted line where you can tear it off) for easier removal and less damage to your notebook

* Use notebooks with plastic covers because they are durable and won't wear out, also plastic is immune to water so it is better in winter if it is raining

* Also (if using spiral bound) look for thicker heavier spirals so it won't fall apart, spirals are better than rings

* Some notebook come with extras like pockets which is more convenient because you won’t have to buy a file, some have removable dividers, others come with a ruler which is a nice addition, so shop around.

* get ones with dividers, or make your own (I'll show you how to in a separate post)

* Most importantly buy good quality paper, that doesn’t drink the ink nor show the writing on the other side. Look for white paper with lighter lines so that page won't look dark

My favourite types of binding: Spirals and tape bound
النوع المفضل عندي للدفاتر

See the difference between the two notebooks, the one on the top have spiral bound which is better, because the wire binding on the bottom might open and let the paper loose
لاحضو الفرق بين الدفتر اللي فوق و اللي تحت، اللي فوق جاي حلزوني وهذا أحسن لأن اللي تحت ممكن يتبطل وتتقلع الأوراق

- دفتر:  واجد مهم حق تكتبون شرح الدكتور والأشياء المهمة اللي يقولها، لكن مو لازم تشترونه أول يوم، يفضل على ثاني إسبوع تجيبونه، لأن ماتدرون إذا المادة تحتاج كتابة أو لا. في الوقت الراهن جيبو وياكم دفتر صغير حق تكتبون فيه الأشياء المهمة في أول يوم لكم، مثل: إسم الدكتور وساعاته المكتبية ووين مكان مكتبه، رقم السكشن والوقت، تاريخ إمتحان المنتصف و الكويز، التواريخ المهمة، توزيع الدرجات، البروجكتات، طريقة الدراسة للمادة، قوانين الدكتور<- كان عندي دكتور يعصب إذا حطينا رجول على رجول ههه

نصائح:

* أشترو دفاتر قوية مابتطيح أوراقها قبل لايجي نص الكورس، أنا أحب الدفاتر اللي فيها سلك لأن تقدرون تجفسونها على ورا أو تقلعون أوراقها بدون ماتخترب، إذا ماتحبون هالنوع حاولو تاخذون دفتر اللي فيه مكان منقط حق تشقون الورقة علشان لايخترب دفتركم وتطيح أوراقها

* أشترو الدفاتر اللي غلافها يكون بلاستيك لأنه ماينعدم بسرعة ولا ينشق، وبعد البلاستيك مقاوم للماي وبما أن الشتاء جاي و المطر ماتبون دفتركم ينعدم وأنتون تشاوطون في الجامعة

* إذا بتشترون دفتر أبو سلك أخذو السلك اللي يجي حلزوني علشان لا تطيح الأوراق

* بعض الدفاتر تجي معها إضافات حلوة مثل فايلات تقدرون تحطون فيها الأوراق أريح لكم من تحملون فايل بروحه، بعضها الأقسام مالتها تقدرين تغيرين مكانها، وبعضها يجي وياها مسطرة تنشال وتنحط.

* أشترو دفاتر مقسمة، أو قسموها بروحكم (براويكم شلون في بوست بروحه)

* أهم شي أنكم تشترون دفاتر أوراقها زينة، ماتشرب الحبر و لا تشف وتبين الكتابة في ظهر الصفحة. دورو دفاتر تكون أوراقها بيضاء والخطوط اللي فيها فاتحة حق لا تبين الصفحات واجد غامقة

Other things that would be helpful to have:

أشياء ثانية تستفيدون منها:

- Highlighters:  to highlight Important things and key words 

- Page flags:  to mark important pages (e.g. from where the quiz/midterm starts) or to mark the start of chapters

- Bookmarks:  to mark where you stopped reading, or where you stopped last class

•   You can easily make your own (I'll show you how in a separate post)

- Extra notebook:  for studying, and making summaries ---> I use Foolscap paper because it resembles the exam paper (being in similar environment to the exam will helps you recall information better)

- Flash card:  makes it easier (and fun) to study for exams

- Washi tape/coloured tape:  to tape unimportant pages, much better looking than folding them

- أقلام التظليل/التحديد/الفوسفوري:  علشان تحددون الأشياء المهمة و الكلمات المفتاحية

- فواصل اللي تتلصق:  حق تحددون الصفحات المهمة (مثلا الأمتحان من وين لوين) أو تحددون وين يبتدي كل جبتر

- فواصل/بوكمارك:  تحددون وين وصلتون في القراءة/التحضير، أو وين وقفت الحصة اللي فاتت

•  أو تقدرون تسوونهم بروحكم (براويكم في بوست بروحه)

- دفر للمراجعة/التحضير:  حق تلخصون فيه الدروس <--- أنا أستخدم أوراق الفولسكيب لأنها تشبه أوراق الامتحان (إذا تدرسون في بيئة مشابهة لبيئة الأمتحان يسهل عليكم إسترجاع المعلومات)
