Book Review: King Solomon's Mines

Hello guys, How have you been ?
personally I haven't been very well, this is officially 2nd week of hell this year (it is not yet half of the years).. hopefully things will get better this week :)

to be honest I was actually planning to review bornprettystore.com and the products I got from them, but I accidentally deleted the pictures so...

I wasn't planing on reading anything today, but when I went to Uni this morning my class was canceled which means I'll be sitting there for an hour doing nothing, so I thought why not go spend this hour in heaven (a.k.a UoB Central Library)

Summery:

Alan Quatermain, Sir Henry Curtis and Captain john Good have travelled a long way over difficult country to the hidden land of the Kukuanas.  Now, deep inside a mountain, they have finally found king Solomon's treasure.  There are enough diamonds there to make them the richest men in the world.  But will they be able to leave the treasure room ?
back cover
My Opinion :
I wanted a quick read because I only had an hour or so to read, and I choose this book because a few weeks ago my Arab110 lesson was about king Solomon and his great army so I thought why not ? besides I didn't have much time to go through all the books in the library to choose what to read (I normally forget myself when I am surrounded by books, the past semesters I would spend 5 hours in the library just staring at the books -while they are on the shelf- or touching them I don't even read the title, open the book, or even get it of it's shelf, weird I know).
anyway to the actual review, I like to read about adventure and traveling and lost treasures, maybe because I rarely get out of the house X(
and this one was really fun to read even though it was so short and everything happened so quickly with little detail but that is probably because this is a revised version from the original story written by Sir H. Rider Haggard (Penguin Readers offer simplified text of the real books and this one is level 4 -Intermediate 1700 words) when I was reading the first chapter I thought this might not be that interesting, but as I kept reading it got more fun, my favourite parts are from chapter 11 to 13 :)

Bobbie Brown Makeup Lesson Experience + FOTD

Hello again <3

this is going to be my first face of the day post (hopefully not my last). Lately I've been taking makeup lessons at Bobbie Brown (the basic how to apply makeup)

last week was how to do Smokey Eyes, the lesson duration is 20 minutes, but I asked the makeup artist that works there -which is by the way is an amazing person, she is really sweet and friendly and she was really clear with explaining everything- to alter it so I would be able to wear it to University, and she did.. everything was easier than I thought it would be and it looked really pretty :)

and while we are at it I'll tell you my opinion about their mascara :
Bobbi Brown 'Everything' Mascara
at the store it looked really beautiful when I applied it, it made my lashed look more defined ad it gave a noticeable volume and I had no trouble with it at all, and I left it on my face the whole day (I do that when I am using a new product to test it'd durability) and the next morning after I washed t I noticed that my lashes looked thinner, but I thought that's probably because I washed of the mascara and now my lashes are back to looking boring, but through out the day my lashes kept falling off :( and now they look thin and brittle.
I know that it is caused by this because I don't wear makeup unless I have to.

*Disclaimer: I am not telling you not to buy this product I am just telling you about my experience with it*

Today's lesson was Secret to Perfect Skin, this time I had another makeup artist teaching me how to do things, she was okay and a little bit rough but maybe it is because I am just not used to people touching my face :/
First thing was skincare routine, which I found okay, but it won't replace my current skincare routine (BTW would anyone like me to make a post about that ?) mainly because it feels kinda heavy on my skin, I can actually feel that I am wearing layers of product which doesn't feel nice at all and it makes me look like I just dipped my face inside a frying pan >.<

Then she showed me how to conceal my dark circles, which was amazing!!
after that she showed me how to swatch foundation and how to find the right shade for me, and applied foundation on my face, this was my first time wearing foundation (I normally use BB cream) and I didn't like it that much because even though the formula was really light it had a lot of coverage (I would recommend it because this is a really good product) but I don't need any coverage because my skin is clear except for my horrible dark circles :(

After that she used bronzer, honestly I've tried applying bronzer many time but my face always looks dirty when I do XP but it looks nice when she applied it hopefully I'll be able to do it the same way :)

Aaaand, this is the results:

What did I buy

*This was supposed to be posted on Saturday but the internet stopped working before it was poster on my blog, and I am just too lazy to adjust everything I wrote so here you go*

Hello there ^___^

it have been a long time since I posted something, I've had a lot of stuff that I wanted to post about but I wasn't allowed to use my laptop because of my sickness :(

anyway so today's post is about the things that I bought, first I'll start with the stuff I bought yesterday:

I love buying deodorant (no, I don't have body odor problems)
playboy play it Lovely + playboy play it Sexy

My mascara started smelling weird so I went to Daiso to buy a new one (mostly because it is cheap and I am broke)

Hopefully I'll be able to review it soon :)

I also bought an eyelash curler because my other one is crooked and it break/rip out my lashes >.<

and today while I was waiting for my mom to get out from work, I thought I'll look around the shop to pass time and I came across this:
it is a turmeric soap, everyone keep saying how amazing for your skin is and how good it is at getting rid of body acne so I thought why not give it try.

( the story of my bacne:
two years ago when I was in school, I was so bored in math class so I thought why not take a nap?
and while I was dead sleeping, my classmates turned me into a scrapbook, they wrote on my neck/shoulders/face with markers and blue pens.. anyway after two days I started developing acne on my shoulder and until this day I can't get rid of it T.T)

but before going to pick up my mom from work I bought these ~
look at this cute nose ~
I bought two cute little mice <3

*shy*
running around in there new home

aren't they so cute ? I've wanted to get a white mouse for like 4 years or so but my mom never allowed me to :(
but this time she let me :D
Do you guys have any suggestion for names ? (they are both females)

Bonus: I got escada perfume samples in the mail today

and that's it for today's post, see you next time

Book Review: Haven: A Stranger Magic (Book 1)

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.
Hello there, it is me again ^___^

I am very exited about today review because this is the first time I'm given something to review :D

Book: Haven: A Stranger Magic (Book 1)

Author: D.C. Akers

D.C. Akers is an Amazon Best Selling Author. Like many who enjoy the fantasy genre, Akers started reading it as an adolescent. He was fascinated with Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings and Bram Stoker’s Dracula. He currently enjoys reading works by Dean Koontz, Heather Brewer, J.K. Rowling, and Rick Riordan.

Akers enjoys creating a fantasy world with compelling story-lines, while injecting humor and a touch of drama into the action as he did with his first book Terra Vonnel and the Skulls of Aries, which has received rave reviews.

“I start every story with this thought: Where can I take my audience now? To me it’s about the journey, the escape into a world filled with the fantastic and the unexpected. There is nothing like an adventure that takes you further from reality with every turn of the page.”

D.C. Akers was born in Texas and attended Crowley High School. After spending several years working in accounting, Akers began to pursue his childhood dream of becoming a writer.

Summery:
Sam Dalcome thinks he is so completely average that no one ever notices him. Until he discovers a mysterious stranger outside his home. Bewildered, he tries to uncover the stranger’s intentions. But Sam is sidetracked when he and his friend Travis discover a secret passageway deep in the town’s quarry that leads to a hidden cavern. What they uncover next will not only change their lives forever, but will uncover the first clue to a deadly Dalcome family secret. Sam finds himself drawn into a world of mystery and magic he never knew existed, which brings him closer to a destiny he never knew was possible.

My Opinion :
This book is really easy to read, even though at first it can get a bit boring in the first few chapters that you think nothing interesting is going to happen, but then things start to happen and you can get so indulged in reading you forgot about your surroundings ( I was reading this book on the bus ride to the university when the bus driver suddenly stopped and asked me if I am going to get out the bus yet,
Me: *looking around to find empty seats and realize that I don't know exactly where I am* Umm.. where am I ?
Bus driver: IT college
Me: But I go law college
Bus Driver: yeah.. I stopped there and waited for you to get down, but you didn't so I thought you might want to get off here because you have classes here sometimes.. I even asked you if you will get down here but you ignored me.
Me: *confused* I did ?! I am sorry I didn't know what was going on, I was reading "^_^
Bus driver: *laughes* it is okay.. I'll take you to law college
and he was laughing the whole time I was a bit embarrassed )
overall this book was really fun to read and my favourite was Travis :)
the only bad thing I have to say it that it ends on a cliff hanger, which is expected because this is a series not a single book.
