E-CACHRA

Hello everyone,
I am sorry I haven't been posting anything for the past few weeks , I've been very busy with university since it is the last weeks now.. well, I need your support with my project, me and my team have worked very hard for it and we would really appreciate it if you helped us (we'll get extra marks if we win).

This is the link : http://www.ripplesofhappiness.com/en/teams/name/e-cachra/9?team_id=9

if anyone of you is curious about what is he/she is voting for, our project is called e-cachra (in our slang it means broken/useless thing), we are trying to raise awareness of the dangers of electronic waste, how harmful this stuff for environment and humans, currently in Bahrain they bury it underground, which is wrong because electronics contains a lot of toxic stuff like lead, arsenic, cobalt, mercury and a lot of other things.
right now we are raising awareness about e-waste, but if we won the competition we will get a sponsor who will build an electronic waste recycling center :)

please help us ^___^

What does your makeup say about you ?

Looks controls most of our thoughts/first impression of other people. What are they wearing? Accessories? colours ? even makeup. All of these are ways of showing how do you think about yourself, and the importance of others for you. and what do you want them to think about you.

Makeup changes people impression about your personality, at least that what the recent study on PLOS website says.
The study was carried on by passing photos of the models on the recipients, on some photos the model won't be wearing makeup, while on others she'll be wearing makeup, varying from barely there to party makeup.
Studies showed that wearing makeup changes the way people see/judge a person.

For example: a model wearing light/natural makeup makes you think that she is confident and loved and it also makes her more attractive. And studies says that the more attractive and impressing the person is, the more confidence he is, which leads to success in work and life.
The more Daring a woman is in wearing her makeup, the more confidence and couragous vibes she gives.
Also studies have shown that the more makeup you wear, the more people will start thinking that you lean toward being irresponsible self-centered person. sometimes showy or have low self-esteem.

Contrary to what was expected, the study showed negative results for women with no makeup, as it gave impression that she doesn't take care pf herself, pale, and a somewhat depressed, like there is something on her mind that is overstraining and fatiguing her. And maybe she is not hard working in her job, and doesn't care what other people think about her and her social presence.

Studies also shown that there is a huge impact for lipstick on what people think about you. The more obvious/bold it is, it gives an impression of more confidence and that you are strong enough to try new stuff and success in doing what you want. also the study shown that wearing lipstick have a good impact on the people surrounding you.

Finally, Everything in balance gives a good impression for others. All you have to do is find the colours that match you and express your personality and accent your features, Because that leaves a good impression on the people around you :)

Wish you good like with your makeup today!

Review: FARMASI Apricot Shampoo

H-Hi..

Umm.. I am sorry I was flooding my blog with fillers instead of posting regularly the past few week, but I do have a valid reason for that.. My 17 years old cousin was killed because he used to protest and I was feeling very sad about that, I am just starting to get over it, but what kills me is the fact that I was going to call him the day he was murdered to ask him what does he want me to get him for his birthday (his was going to turn 17 on the 24th of November), but I got very busy I forgot to call him, then later that night I was told about his death..

Anyway, I am very sorry to start my post with depressing news..

So, Today I'll be reviewing FARMASI Apricot Shampoo, FARMASI cosmetics is one of the biggest cosmetics manufacturers in Turkey. 2000 types of products addressing all age groups in categories of Personal care, Make-up products, baby products, wet wipes, perfumes and with approximately 350 million people in the world exporting to 118 countries.

How to use: Add a small amount into the palm of hand and massage into wet hair. Rinse and repeat if necessary.

this is the lather

Texture: unlike other shampoos I tried this one tends to be runny, but I really like the colour and smell of this shampoo.

Pros:
- The smell, it is really nice, I keep sniffing my hair after I wash it ^___^
- it makes your hair shiny .
- cures split ends and frizzy hair
- it is very gentle on my curls, and it makes them defined and pretty.
- cheap.
- you don't need to use conditioner after it.
- helps with dandruff.

Cons:
- it doesn't taste as good as it smells ( I tried to taste it, it was a stupid idea >_<)
- a bit runny so you have to be careful not to pour the whole bottle in your palm.
- it is really good with defining curls that your curls won't get straight unless you use a flat iron (this is an advantage most of the times, but sometimes I long for straight hair).

Repurchase: this is my 3rd bottle, so yeah.

Do you want to have clear beautiful skin, but don't want to cover your face with chemicals ?

Ad Shows The World’s Popular Opinions Of Women Using Search Engine

This campaign from UN Women uses real suggested search terms from Google’s autocomplete feature. Campaign creator Christopher Hunt, head of art for Ogilvy & Mather Dubai, offers this summary: “This campaign uses the world’s most popular search engine (Google) to show how gender inequality is a worldwide problem. The adverts show the results of genuine searches, highlighting popular opinions across the world wide web.”

At the bottom of each print it says, “actual Google search on 09/03/13.” Google searches in different countries will yield different results, but try putting “women shouldn’t” or “women need” into Google and you’ll see that many of these examples show up in your autocomplete, even in the US.

Sneezing Etiquette

Hi ~

the weather is getting colder and colder with every passing day, do you know what does that mean ?
here is a little poem to let you guess :

Little Boy Blue, Please Cover Your Nose
by Darren Sardelli

Little Boy Blue,
Please cover your nose.
You sneezed on Miss Muffet
And ruined her clothes.
You sprayed Mother Hubbard,
And now she is sick.
You put out the fire
On Jack’s candlestick.
Your sneeze is the reason
Why Humpty fell down.
You drenched Yankee Doodle
When he came to town.
The blind mice are angry!
The sheep are upset!
From now on use tissues
So no one gets wet!

flu season ! (a.k.a sneezing season)
poor little boy blue he lost face in front of everyone, sure none of you pretty girls want that to happen to her, right ?

here is some etiquette rules to help you avoid being in his situation:

- when sneezing, be sure that your nose and mouth area is fully covered, preferably with a tissue, but if you don't have one, you can sneeze on your inner elbow.

- after sneezing, don't shake hand with people or touch things, you have to first make sure that you washed your hands with soap first, and if that is not an option use wet wipes (those should never leave your bag).

- If you feel that you are going in a sneezing frenzy, you have to excuse yourself and get out of the room.

- If you sneeze loudly, you have to apologize after sneezing, and if someone else sneezed, make sure to say "bless you" (or its equivalent in your language).

- sometimes people might offer you their handkerchief when you sneeze, never give it to them dirty. you have to take it home, wash it, then give it back to them.

Hope you all stay healthy and beautiful through the cold weather :)

- Thikrayat

What to do with expired milk ?

The answer is to throw it in the trash, right ? Wrong!
The answer is to use it on your face, According to a trusted Beauty website, expired milk is very good for exfoliating and whitening your skin! Just after two or three days of it's expiration date, the milk  will produce large amounts of lactic acid. All you have to do is add a little bit of warm water, dip your fingers in it, and gently massage the face for a few minutes.
they said it helps remove aging marks (wrinkles/pigmentation/tired look) from your skin, it'll also brighten your face, and helps make it whiter.

personally, I have a very weird/sensitive nose and stomach, when I smell food/cooking I feel very sick like I'll vomit, so I won't be trying this.

what about you ? would you try it ?

Beauty tip: wash your face with warm water

Always use warm water to wash your face, instead of cold water.
Because cold water causes sudden contraction of the pores (it closes the pores) before you get to remove all the dirt, oil, and cleanser from your face, which can cause pimples and breakouts.

Also don't use hot water to wash your face or it'll make your skin expand causing you early wrinkles.

Expired cosmetics recycling

while I was browsing in some Chinese website, I came across this post about recycling expired makeup and I thought I would share it with you :)

Original post :

And this it what it says:
(take in mind that I can't speak/read Chinese, and I have to use google translate)

[Expired cosmetics recycling] Today I found a lot of small things expired, but it also can be used in other ways: clear/uncoloured emulsion can be used to wipe the bag(the outside of leather/plastic/or similar materials); expired eye shadow powder can be mixed with nail polish, it'll give a nice effect; Toner can be used to clean dresser and mirror; Cleanser can clean Brushes and  shoes; loose shoe wardrobe can be placed in addition to moisture(I don't understand what she means); perfume can be to rub lamps; shower gel for washing the bathtub; shampoo to wash sweaters.

Memories Memory: Family outing

Umm.. Hi ~

I am really sorry I haven't been posting lately, But if you read my post about University & nightmares, you probably know that I've been so stressed lately (even though everything is going well for, which is weird).. also I've been so busy lately Because my BFF from when I was 5 started talking to me, and I kind of spent my whole time talking o him, until he said he have a crush on me since we were kids, I don't know what I am supposed to do now (any advice/tips would be appreciated)

So, to relax a little bit and forget about all this stuff, my sister suggested we go on a picnic :)
we wend to Dohat 'Arad, which is park and a natural reserve, and it have the longest walkway in Bahrain (3km), and I proud to say that I walked the whole distance in an hour ^___^   (I stopped halfway to take a toilet/water break)

this is the beginning of the walkway :)

as I mentioned above, this is a natural reserve, a lot of migrating birds land here to rest, there was also a huge flamingo flock there, but because I was taking pictures with my phone I couldn't capture it (there is no zoom function X(

I was pretending to be a pirate while walking there (for some reason, wooden bridges always remind me of pirates).

even though it is fall now, the sun was still hot (34C/93F), but thanks god there was some cool breeze every now and then.

After successfully finishing the walk, we were heading home..

the sunset was nice today :)

but instead of going home, we were wandering in the streets.

then we went to duraz beach, it is a fishing area so swimming is not allowed there.

 the sunset was beautiful there.

my brother acting like a hero just because he was able to keep his balance on the rock X)

my dad started skipping stones, it is his favourite thing to do on the beach.

I wasn't able to snatch a photo of it, but there was a group of fishes (mullet) jumping around.

my brother photobombing, and my parents.

He really likes standing on rocks ^___^
he was pointing to a single star on the sky, asking me what it was, and according to my science teacher in forth grade, this is not a start it is a planet (Jupiter) she said we can be able to see it with naked eye around sunset because it have more than 50 moons, and she said you can tell it is not a start because starts twinkle.
I wonder if it is obvious on other countries, would you like to check and tell me ?

then it got late, and we came back home.

TBH, I do feel better after going out and having fun, and I do feel proud of myself for doing some exercise ^___^
and this time, I am not going to neglect my blog, I pinky promise :3

P.S: please excuse the crappy pictures, Because I used my phone camera.
